The NBRH in a nutshell
What is The NBRH?
The NBRH is a movement, a platform, and a promise. We're here to make social sport and classes more affordable, accessible, and better organised — for everyone. Instead of building new clubs, we help the brilliant ones that already exist grow stronger. Our platform connects players, organisers, and venues, solving long-standing issues with cost, experience, and infrastructure. Think of us as the go-to for discovering, booking, building, and funding community sport.
Why The NBRH Exists
Across the UK, millions want to play. But cost, poor organisation, and lack of access hold people back. Clubs operate on shoestring budgets, facilitators offer little support, and quality varies wildly. The NBRH exists to break this cycle. With 20+ years of lived sport experience at every level, we know how it feels when grassroots fails to live up to its promise. Our belief: when you solve for affordability, accessibility, and organisation, everyone wins. That’s our founding thesis — and we’re building around it.
What We Offer
We’re not just a booking site. We’re a digital sport ecosystem. Players can: book subsidised sessions, discover local clubs, attend events, get exclusive deals, access content and playlists, and track their activity. Clubs can: monetise, market, recruit, access templates and services, find venues, hire professionals, and raise funding — all in one place. We vet every listing and prioritise user experience. Our goal is simple: reduce the chaos and cost of getting active.
How It Works
Step 1: We subsidise sessions through ads, subscriptions, events, merch, services, and consulting. Step 2: We attract players through great value, smart tools, and community power. Step 3: We monetise that audience ethically, reinvesting the majority into more clubs, classes, and upgrades. We cut red tape, back grassroots, and reward organisers — not middlemen.
Who It's For
Whether you’re a recent graduate, a new parent, a club captain, or someone just trying to get moving again — The NBRH is for you. For players, we offer convenience, affordability, and confidence. For clubs, we offer reach, tools, and financial support. For local businesses, creators, and venues, we offer a high-intent audience ready to move. This is for anyone who's ever tried to stay active — and wished it was just a bit easier.
The Big Picture
We want to make free sport a right, not a luxury. Our mission: provide free or low-cost sessions to 1,000,000 people by 2030, generate £500,000+ for clubs, and dramatically raise participation across all communities. We’re building a better sport experience — community-first, tech-powered, and radically transparent. If we win, more people move, clubs thrive, and culture shifts. That’s The NBRH vision.

The NBRH Manifesto
-
I’ve spent nearly two decades immersed in competitive sport—playing, refereeing, coaching and captaining across basketball, rugby and more—so I’ve seen the good, the bad and the chaotic sides of grassroots activity. Those years as a university and national sports officer exposed the operational headaches that clubs fight daily, from threadbare budgets to last‑minute venue cancellations. Juggling leadership roles with life off the pitch forced me to master efficient organisation and value‑for‑money solutions. That combination of front‑line experience and strategic oversight means I understand where clubs leak time and cash, and how small fixes unlock huge gains. Naturally, that lived knowledge guides everything that follows, setting the stage for a wider look at the market itself.
-
Across Britain, participation is climbing, but it’s patchy—Gen Z swarm to affordable, flexible sessions while older or lower‑income groups often fall away. Policy makers and advertisers are scrambling to catch this surge, funnelling money into inclusivity schemes that still struggle to reach local pitches and courts. Unlike travel or food delivery, no single platform owns the recreational‑exercise space, so discovery remains fragmented and expensive. Community‑led, on‑demand activity is where the most growth and goodwill reside, yet it lacks the digital match‑maker that could tie everything together. Grasping the scale of that vacuum leads straight to the problems that frustrate players and organisers every week.

-
Players crave simple booking flows, fair prices and reliable sessions, but organisers juggle volunteer timetables, clunky spreadsheets and opaque venue fees. Because facilitators face little competitive pressure, quality control is uneven, and participants accept “good enough” rather than great. It’s a brittle ecosystem that bends under strain and barely leaves room for newcomers.
-
When booking requires three apps, unpredictable prices and blind trust in strangers, many beginners simply give up before they’ve laced their boots. Clubs limp along on bake‑sale budgets, forced to prioritise survival over growth and inclusivity. People in lower‑income areas or with disabilities face the steepest barriers, widening health and social inequalities. Parents juggle childcare and commuting only to discover sessions sold out or cancelled, draining enthusiasm. Lost opportunities to exercise erode both physical wellbeing and community cohesion—a cost borne quietly in hospital stats and empty playing fields. Recognising those personal sacrifices points us to a thesis for real, measurable change.
-
If we attack three levers—affordability, accessibility and seamless organisation—participation will rise, satisfaction will soar and club revenues will follow. We measure victory in hard numbers: minutes moved, pounds saved, sessions filled and surplus reinvested locally. A data‑driven feedback loop rewards good actors and flags weak points quickly. By embedding transparency, we tilt power back to the community rather than middle‑men. This thesis isn’t abstract; it shapes why NBRH exists and how it tackles entrenched obstacles.
-
Sport gave me confidence, friendships and a career springboard, yet I watched talented peers quit because of cost or chaos. Governing bodies talk big about levelling the field, but bureaucracy slows real progress, especially for working‑class areas, women and ethnic‑minority groups. I realised that grassroots organisers already hold the keys; they simply need tech, marketing and bargaining muscle to thrive. Building NBRH felt like the most direct way to repay the opportunities sport gave me and to democratise them for others. It’s a movement as much as a business, rooted in the belief that community‑led sport works best when powered by smart tools. With that purpose clear, the next step is defining exactly what NBRH offers.
-
The NBRH is a single destination for all your social exercise needs—helping people book, build, buy, grow, learn and discover without the usual guesswork. Rather than setting up new clubs, we support those that already exist and have members. Our platform helps these clubs grow, gain more exposure and unlock new monetisation opportunities. We provide tools for marketing, networking and generating revenue—shifting power back to clubs and players, and putting them first.
-
Within one app, players browse clubs, book sessions, crowdfund, hire coaches and rate experiences—addressing a dozen persistent headaches from cost to credibility. Dynamic subsidies cut ticket prices, making it more affordable than any comparable service. Growth tools help clubs schedule, promote and upsell in minutes, replacing spreadsheets with automation. A trusted ratings layer keeps organisers accountable and gives players confidence to try something new. Integrating these features transforms fragmented processes into a smooth journey that saves hours each week. Those capabilities form the basis of the unique selling points that set us apart.

-
Subsidies
Step 1 - We subsidise pre-existing sports activities & classes via advertising, subscriptions, consulting, selling data, offering services, events, merchandise etc. Meaning the attendees can experience the activities that they already attend and love for close to nothing. Ideally free. The sports & classes in questions have established bases, meaning we aren’t starting from scratch.
⬇️
Acquire Members Through Clubs
Step 2 - The affordable sports & classes attract more people to the website & to sign up. Also, with our wealth of content, gamification, tools & aggregation, it keeps people on the site & leads to repeat visits. Leading to more traffic & lower bounce rates.
⬇️
Monetise Our Audience
Step 3 - With more members and traffic on our website, we become more attractive to sponsorship, ads and business promotion from clubs. Generating funds in the process and more opportunities to monetise our audience.
⬇️
Reinvest Revenue
Step 4 - We reinvest a portion of the revenue into continuing and improving our marketing and subsidising more clubs and classes. We also use the revenue to scale our operations, and implement more sports, classes and locations. While also sharing a capped portion of our revenues with creators, club owners and donating to exercise related causes. And the cycle continues.
REPEAT
-
On the player side, recent graduates craving new social circles, parents seeking flexible exercise slots, mid‑career professionals chasing post‑work runs and retirees wanting gentle movement all find sessions tailored to their pace and pocket. Organisational users range from schools and universities needing extra reach, to local venue owners filling off‑peak time, and grassroots clubs hungry for marketing firepower. Small businesses—think physiotherapists or kit suppliers—tap into our marketplace to reach sport‑minded audiences. The diversity of users strengthens the platform’s network effect: more variety breeds more value. This rich mix helps us carve out a distinctive niche amid existing solutions. A glance at the competitor landscape reveals why timing matters.
-
Traditional council‑run booking portals are clunky, while class‑pass style apps target boutique fitness, not team sport or social exercise. Niche Facebook groups offer community but lack payment security or reliable data. Local authority free‑fitness schemes are admirable yet often under‑promoted and oversubscribed. No one combines curated social exercise, club‑centric revenue tools and dynamic subsidies at large scale. That first‑mover opportunity remains wide open, but it won’t last forever. Recognising the window dictates how we plan to grow quickly and sustainably.
-
We begin with low‑cost guerrilla tactics—WhatsApp nudges, pick‑up games labelled “pay what you can”, SEO‑friendly how‑to guides—to seed early traction. User‑generated content and local partnerships create shareable stories that piggy‑back on community pride. Referral rewards and influencer tie‑ins widen the circle without burning cash on blanket ads. Paid social only kicks in once organic retention numbers prove the funnel works. Every growth phase is instrumented, ensuring we reinvest in the tactics with the best lifetime‑value return. Those milestones feed directly into our timeline of goals.
-
Within the first 18 months, we aim to launch a feature‑rich app with booking, ratings, club dashboards and playful gamification like streak badges. By year three, an “all‑in” monthly pass will grant multi‑sport access and unlock a central data hub helping clubs tailor schedules on the fly. Beyond year five, we plan to co‑finance new facilities, secure grassroots broadcast rights and host national community sport festivals. Each stage is funded by reinvesting platform surplus and strategic sponsorship deals. Regular progress audits keep us honest and pivot‑ready. Achieving these milestones sets the platform up for lasting success.
-
Our mission is socially resonant at a time when health disparities dominate headlines, giving us a narrative that cuts through noise. The business model spreads risk across multiple revenue streams, making it recession‑resistant. A deep network of sports insiders, coaches and venue managers compresses the learning curve and eases market entry. Continuous feature drops and storytelling keep users emotionally invested and less likely to churn. Moreover, transparent subsidies prove we’re not lip‑service about inclusion—we’re structurally engineered for it. Still, none of it happens without community buy‑in, which is where you enter the picture.
-
Your first step could be as small as creating a profile or following our social feeds; every extra user sharpens our data and attracts sponsors. Consider donating old kit, pledging a tenner towards subsidies or sharing our story with a local club that needs support. If you run sessions, list them and tap our marketing tools; if you own a venue, fill your spare slots and earn. Feedback is gold—tell us what features you crave and help shape the roadmap. Every act, however modest, fuels more affordable sessions and stronger clubs. Picture the collective impact if thousands join in.
-
Imagine booking football on a Tuesday, wheelchair basketball on Thursday and family yoga on Sunday—all for the price of a cinema ticket. A million free sessions by 2030 would translate into lower NHS costs and livelier parks. One hundred refurbished facilities would revitalise high‑streets and create safe spaces after school. Data‑rich dashboards would empower councils to target resources where gaps actually exist, not where assumptions suggest. Ultimately, Britain would feel healthier, more connected and more equal, proving that community sport, when properly organised, is nothing short of nation‑building. That’s the finish line we’re sprinting toward together.

How NBRH Tokens Work
NBRH Tokens are your key to unlocking sports sessions, classes, events and more across our network. They're designed to keep access simple, affordable, and community-driven.
How you get them:
Buy merchandise
Buy tokens
Win competitions
Offers & Deals
Complete Surveys
Via NBRH memberships
Through your club
Through donations
Leveling up
Neighbour paying it forward & much more.
How you use them:
Tokens can be used to book a wide range of activities, like joining a weekly five-a-side football match, signing up for a yoga class in the park, or reserving a spot at a special tournament. Most activities that accept tokens will cost one token per session. On rare occasions, special events might require more than one token — if so, we’ll always tell you before you book.
Why we use tokens:
Tokens aren’t just about keeping things simple — they help keep sessions fair and balanced. By using tokens, we make sure that places are genuinely valued, reducing no-shows and making sure spots aren’t wasted. When demand is higher, tokens also help regulate access fairly, so sessions stay accessible and run smoothly for everyone.
Important to know:
Not every activity accepts tokens — but it’ll be clearly marked when they do.
Tokens are booked and managed through [the NBRH app / website].
If an event is cancelled, your token will be automatically returned to your account.
If an activity is full when you try to book, your token won’t be deducted.
Tokens are non-refundable but can be used flexibly across eligible activities.
Currently, tokens do not expire — but if that ever changes, we’ll give plenty of notice.
At NBRH, we believe that getting active shouldn’t be complicated or expensive. Tokens are more than just credits — they're your ticket to joining a bigger movement: one where sport and community belong to everyone.

AI Use at NBRH: What You Need to Know
We use AI to help create some of our content, code, and designs — and we think you deserve to know that. AI tools (like ChatGPT and Midjourney) have been used to draft parts of blog posts, assist with coding, and generate some visuals across the site. But here’s the deal: nothing goes live without a human at NBRH checking, editing, and shaping it. If it’s not up to scratch, it doesn’t make the cut. We take full responsibility for everything you see here — AI or not. No excuses. No hiding. Just a bit of extra help behind the scenes. If you ever spot something that feels off, or if you’re curious about how a piece was made, drop us a message. We’re happy to chat.
NBRH GOALS
At NBRH, our goals aren’t vague ambitions—they’re bold, practical steps towards a world where sport is a right, not a privilege. We’re starting by unlocking access for those most excluded, boosting the clubs and coaches at the heart of communities, and cutting through the noise in health and fitness.
Over time, we’ll scale our impact—raising participation, lowering costs, upgrading infrastructure, and spotlighting the sports that deserve more attention. Long-term, we’re aiming big: free, regular sport and movement for a million people. Because everyone deserves to move, belong, and benefit—no matter their background or bank balance.
-
NBRH will provide free weekly access to sport and fitness for 100,000 people by subsidising existing clubs, partnering with local councils, and simplifying sign-ups. Priority will go to low-income, underserved communities where cost and convenience are barriers. This is about proving that free sport isn’t just possible—it works. We’re testing the model at scale, showing real people benefit when access isn’t paywalled.

Through our revenue share model, we’ll generate £500,000 for 100 grassroots clubs by helping them reach new audiences, streamline payments, and monetise spare capacity. It’s a direct injection of value: more bookings, less admin, fairer splits. This ensures clubs thrive while staying affordable, making financial sustainability a shared win.

£0 / £500,000 GENERATED

We’ll train 100 local coaches, organisers, and community leaders in inclusive coaching, digital tools, and club ops—giving them the confidence and skills to grow their sessions. These are the people driving change on the ground. By investing in them, we multiply our impact and build long-term capacity where it matters.
0 / 100 PEOPLE UPSKILLED
-
We’ll help 50clubs solve real, practical problems—from poor attendance to no-shows to clunky booking systems. Each fix will be logged and shared to create a public knowledge base for other clubs. This is hyper-local problem-solving with national scale—making it easier for grassroots sport to run better everywhere.

We’re cutting through the noise with an open, evidence-based library that demystifies health and fitness—no jargon, no snake oil. It’ll answer the questions people actually ask, written with empathy and realism. Because if people don’t trust the info, they don’t act on it. And right now, most of what’s out there is either confusing, elitist or wrong.
0 / 100 APPROVAL ON FITNESS CONTENT
-
We’ll drive a 25% uplift in sport and class participation among young people, older adults, and marginalised groups through targeted partnerships, tailored content, and financial support. This isn’t about blanket growth—it’s about inclusion. Because the gaps in who moves and who doesn’t are where the health inequalities begin.
0% / 25% UPLIFT
-
We’ll raise the national profile of 10 underfunded sports through a mix of media features, digital storytelling, and community showcases. These sports often get sidelined due to funding bias and media indifference—but they offer joy, identity, and culture. We’re giving them the stage they deserve.
0 / 10 NICHE SPORTS SPOTLIGHTED
-
Our model—aggregated bookings, shared subsidies, and digital efficiencies—aims to cut the average annual cost of sport and fitness by 30%. We’ll track national cost data and advocate for pricing reform with providers. Affordability is the front line of access. Lower costs mean fewer excuses, more movement.
0 / 1000 HAVE HAD THEIR COST REDUCED
-
We’ll upgrade 10 community sports facilities with better equipment, tech tools, and accessibility improvements. Some will be physical fixes, others digital integrations. We’ll partner with suppliers, sponsors, and local authorities to get it done. Because a good space invites people in. A neglected one locks them out.
0 /10 FACILTIES UPGRADED
Sport Isn't Broken — It's Been Abandoned. We're Fighting to Bring It Back.
Let's face the heartbreaking truth: sport in the UK has been stolen from those who need it most.
In the last decade, public funding for grassroots sport has withered away while facility costs have skyrocketed. Over 40% of local authority sports centres have disappeared or been hollowed out. Our children's playing fields—once alive with laughter and movement—are being sold to the highest bidder. And who suffers? The very people who find hope, health and belonging through movement—young people, working-class communities, people of colour—now stand outside looking in, doors slammed in their faces.
Meanwhile, we're lectured to "get active" for our health, our happiness, our precious NHS. As if the barriers were just in our minds. As if systemic inequality wasn't the real opponent we're all facing.
This is where NBRH rises up.
We are not just an organisation—we're a rebellion. A nationwide movement reclaiming sport as a birthright, not a privilege. We're making movement more accessible, more connected, and more organised—without the crushing price tag. We refuse to be another empty campaign asking people to squeeze blood from stones. Instead, we're building a living, breathing ecosystem of free and affordable sport that pulses with community energy, stands firm on hard data, and grows stronger every day.
We champion the unsung heroes—those teaching dance in drafty church halls, organising pickup games on crumbling courts, leading fitness sessions in neglected parks. These everyday warriors already fighting the good fight. We arm them with tools to flourish, financial support when the struggle gets too real, and a platform that weaves their work into something greater than themselves.
Our approach isn't built on hunches—it's powered by real-time data mapping where need burns brightest, where opportunities have dried up, and where investment could ignite transformation. This isn't wishful thinking—it's evidence-driven, community-forged action. We're challenging public health teams, councils and sponsors to stop talking over communities and start truly listening to their voices.
Because here's the raw truth: what's been lost isn't just funding—it's soul. Sport has been hijacked by profit-hungry corporations and elite institutions. The pure joy, the spontaneous play, the human connection—all sacrificed at the altar of commercialisation. And we're standing up to say: enough.
We believe free sport belongs to everyone—as fundamental as clean air, green spaces, or public libraries. That might sound revolutionary, but it's actually restorative. It's reclaiming what was taken from us. And it's time to take it back.
Our vision? A United Kingdom transformed by accessible sport powered by passion, not profit margins. A policy revolution where community sport commands the same respect and resources as elite pathways. And a culture where movement isn't packaged and sold back to us as a luxury product, but embraced as daily ritual—joyful, messy, profoundly human.
We're not asking permission. We're not begging for scraps from the table. We're building the future of sport ourselves—right now, from the ground up.
This is your call to arms. Whether you're a player, organiser, funder or simply someone who feels the burning injustice of the current system—this is where you belong.
Join us. Let's heal this broken promise. One Neighbourhood at a time.
